For Ashlee

Ok I am going to write an hour for hour account of my day for Ashlee. Apparently she is very interested in what people without a real work or school schedule do during the day.

I got up at 9:25am. Yes that is correct, 9:25am. I got dressed had some time in the Word, checked my email, played with Jackson in the snow, and had a little breakfast.

By 10:30, I had talked to half of my ministry team about tonight's Leadership meeting. We were trying to decided if we should cancel or not because of the treacherous road conditions. (I am kidding! We had about 2 inches of snow!) Next I made a few other phone calls, made plans for lunch and let the dog in and out forty six times!

Somewhere between phone calls and lunch I organized some ministry paperwork, looked ahead at lesson plans for the next few weeks, and found the top of my desk! I cleaned my office for about an hour and still had more to do later. I started cleaning the greatroom as well. AUGH I hate cleaning. If only I would remember to do it every few days it would be better!

Brand, Tom, and Brighton picked me up for lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings around 12:30. We had an awesome time. Food was good and so were the jokes and stories. I haven't laughed that hard in a longtime. I think we made reference to every political and religious group out there. They weren't all mean! We talked about the upcoming Missouri Democratic Primaries and how I think the Pope is dead and they are just carting around his body. Its like "Weekend at Bernie's" ONLY its "Weekend at John Paul's."

After lunch I returned to cleaning and organizing. I did laundry and put away clean dishes. At approximately 3pm I started looking for a camera on eBay and put in several bids. Finally found a good one and put a bid in on the last 3 minutes of the auction and won. I am now officially the owner of a digital camera! Yeah! Welcome to 2002!

I had about 10 minutes to get ready for tonight. It is a night of worship and fellowship that we have once a month for the leaders at churcht.

At 4:30 the staff meet at the school and followed up with the weekly business. We talked about life and about ministry. We prayed and then began set up for the night. I found this really cool cart that Brandon uses to move the audio stuff around, and used it for a scooter YEAH! I figured out pretty quickly how to steer it down the hallway and when to jump off to slow down. After we were done tonight I used it to push 6 kids around on, fun times, fun times!

It has been a long time since I was in corporate worship and I was a little distracted. I need to not let my personal worship time become a stumbling block in corporate worship. I also should have said something to people who were talking, Oh well. It was good. The night was a night of encouragement for each other. Several people got to share what they needed encouragement for and some how that always helps me get things into perspective. Then when we were done I sat around and talked to friends for about an hour and then came home at 10pm.

And that little Ashlee...was my day!
