Its Over

The best thing that could have happened for David happened today. David died this afternoon. He is know in the presence of our glorious God, his body is healed and his pain and suffering are finally over.

David was OK yesterday. This morning things got strange. First of all he had a broken leg. WEIRD... It was bending below his knee-very gross. He also had a high fever and was needing oxygen again, and not really breathing well. After we got to the hospital we realized how bad things really were.

David's blood pressure was something ridiculous like 32 and they couldn't even get the lower number. His heart rate soared to the 190s and his fever went up to 105.7. After trying for about 30 minutes of trying to get an IV and start a central line, the doctors decided that David's body was starting to shut down. There really wasn't anything that could be done as this point. The doctor told us that David would only live a few hours. It was about 40 minutes or so.

The whole thing was very peaceful. David was not in pain at all which was our concern. The staff at the hospital were phenomenal. They respected our decisions and were very supportive to my mom and me. I am very thankful that we went to the larger, more experienced hospital. I really believe that the only reason that we noticed the deformity and break in his leg was to get up to such a good hospital, otherwise we may have ended up back at the smaller local hospital. God's hand was on that situation for the good of my family.

My dad got to the hospital several hours after David died and we all wept. Brandi and Johnny were there as well, which was awesome. After all was said and done, it was time to leave. Easier said than done. This is when things got real and much harder. We had to leave him there, at the hospital, alone. It was very hard and sad for us.

I believe that God was glorious in that place today. His child was brought home and our family felt like one again today. I wish Matt, our other brother could have been here. Please pray that he gets home soon, I want him here. He is in Houston with work. The way that people from church loved on us today so amazing that I am still shocked. God's presence and therefore Christ's Love came in with each of those people. I am very thankful that they were there to pray, support, and remind me (us) of God's plan for David from the beginning of time.

I'll write more as I can.
