The lady who sells oranges in this video has a Bible verse written on the door to her home. It is
Psalm 118:5-12 (this is the Message translation)
5Pushed to the wall, I called to GOD;
from the wide open spaces, he answered.
6GOD's now at my side and I'm not afraid;
who would dare lay a hand on me?
7GOD's my strong champion;
I flick off my enemies like flies.
8Far better to take refuge in GOD
than trust in people;
9Far better to take refuge in GOD
than trust in celebrities.
10Hemmed in by barbarians,
in GOD's name I rubbed their faces in the dirt;
11Hemmed in and with no way out,
in GOD's name I rubbed their faces in the dirt;
12Like swarming bees, like wild prairie fire, they hemmed me in;
in GOD's name I rubbed their faces in the dirt.
A single mother. She works 16 hours a day and sells organes at night. Why? To send her child to school. The cost? $200. She does not have much, but she knows about the refuge of the Lord. The thought of this woman AMAZES me, especially in this time in my life.
