Hanging out

Today was a good day!

I had a meeting with some of the elementary class teachers today. It was encouraging and I was able to delegate many tasks to other people! YEAH! I am exited to see what God is going to do in the lives of our 1st-5th graders! One of the 3rd Grade girls accepted Jesus today! How awesome is that!

Tonight was better.. I hung out with the Browns. We had planned on watching a movie, but we just kept talking and not moving to the DVD player. So at 8 or so we decided to just have "Bible Chat" instead. We looked at scripture that each of us are reading or that we had found for each other. It was awesome to just sit with 3 (or more) Bibles out and get in the Word. I wish we did that more! Our conversation led to more life stuff as time went on, but that was good too!

I love just hanging out. I know I am guilty of wanting to turn on the TV a lot to avoid times like these in order to protect my heart, but God used tonight to show me the blessings of relationship. It amazes me how many things I do to protect my heart and keep people out. Mostly to avoid pain of past relationships gone bad. I know God is working on that He has been for 5 years. God has been faithful to change my patterns of behavior, WHEN I am obedient to His call.
